How long have you been at Carriage House?

21 years.

How do you help your clients build their wardrobe?

By starting with the basics and working our way from there. I teach them how to plan out their wardrobe so they shop smarter. And I always emphasize the importance of accessorizing. That’s where your personality shines - in the details.

What is your specialty?

The “Jackpot” piece. That’s one of those special pieces that takes your wardrobe to the next level. It works with just about anything and elevates everything you pair it with. I find Jackpots for my clients, and each time I do it instantly becomes one of the most important elements in their wardrobe.

I also have a black belt in scarf tying. I love discovering creative new ways to wear them. Keep watching our Instagram for some fresh ways to work scarves into your wardrobe.

Advice to anyone starting to build a wardrobe

Make sure you always have the proper undergarments. Laser-cut panties are one of the most important pieces you can have in your wardrobe. I love the Commando brand that we sell.

Own at least one conversation piece that spices up whatever you’re wearing. It should tell a little about your personality without you saying a word.

And finally, versatility is so important. You want your entire wardrobe to work together so it can be worn together.

Favorite trend for Fall 20

Vibrant leathers! Especially shirts and jackets. Hang up the tired black and chestnut, try a French blue leather shirt or muted tangerine moto jacket.

What’s the most important essential piece to have in your wardrobe?

A crisp, white button down shirt. Choose one with an interesting detail like ruching or an asymmetrical hem, so it’s a step above the basic white shirt. For the most flattering fit, go with a stretch cotton fabric.

LBD- there’s a reason it’s considered a wardrobe staple. Find the best silhouette for you and keep it ready to throw on at a moment’s notice.

Stylish flats are an easy way to incorporate a new trend or hot color into your look, without overly committing to it. Try leopard print first - you won’t regret it!
