Resort 2026 at Carriage House

Resort 2026 at Carriage House

I’ve reached that age where I’m finally comfortable in my own skin, and let me tell you, it’s a beautiful place to be. I’m over 50, and while I’ve certainly noticed the changes that come with each passing year, I refuse to let words like "dowdy" or "conservative" dictate how I show up in the world. Aging isn't something to dread—it’s a more confident, more authentic phase of life. It’s about knowing who you are and letting your clothes reflect that.

But I know that for many of you, shopping can feel like a chore, or worse, a source of stress. I see it every day in the boutique: women struggling with body confidence, focusing on the parts they want to hide rather than the parts they should celebrate. It breaks my heart because every single one of us has something spectacular to accentuate.

The Resort 2026 collections have just started arriving at Carriage House, and they are a breath of fresh air. They remind me that fashion should be a joy, a way to play and discover new versions of ourselves. This season is all about effortless elegance, textures that tell a story, and colors that make you feel like you’ve been kissed by the sun.

The Resort 2026 Mood: Comfort Meets High-Octane Style

The trends for Resort 2026 are leaning into what I call "intelligent luxury." Think fluid silhouettes, unexpected pops of color, and fabrics that feel as good as they look. We’re seeing a beautiful return to craftsmanship—items that don’t just look expensive but feel substantial and special.

Here’s a look at what we’re coveting this season:

  • Fluid Silk & Sophisticated Sets: Peter Cohen is the master of this. His Mod Squad Pants in four-ply silk are the ultimate investment. Paired with a matching silk top, they create a column of color that is incredibly lengthening and sophisticated. It’s that "Quiet Luxury" everyone is talking about, but with a soul.

  • Artful Prints & Bold Silhouettes: For those moments when you want to make an entrance, Leo Lin is your go-to. His Rianne Applique Maxi Dress in the Harvest Print is sheer poetry. It’s bold, yes, but it’s also incredibly flattering. If you’ve always stayed away from big prints, I challenge you: try it. You might just find it’s the most confident you’ve ever felt.

  • Architectural Cotton & Feminine Details: Monica Nera brings a structured yet romantic energy. Her Franka Top in navy eco-cotton has a gathered neck that draws the eye upward, highlighting your face. It’s these little details that make a piece feel less like "clothing" and more like "style."

  • The Ultimate Casual Luxury: We can’t talk about Resort without Frank & Eileen and Autumn Cashmere. A crisp Eileen Relaxed Top or a boxy mesh muscle tee from Autumn Cashmere are the building blocks of a savvy wardrobe. They’re the pieces you grab for a casual lunch in Decatur or a weekend getaway, knowing you look perfectly put-together.

It's All About How You Feel

I always tell my clients: if you don’t feel good in it, you won’t look good in it. It doesn't matter if it’s the most expensive dress in the store. If you’re pulling at the hem or feeling self-conscious about your waist, it’s not the right piece for you.

We often get into these ruts: "I only wear black," "I can't do sleeveless," "I'm too old for that length." Clothes aren't the enemy, ladies! They are your best friend. A Peter Cohen wrap dress is like a supportive embrace, and a pair of Frank & Eileen pull-on jeans can make you feel like you can conquer a busy afternoon of errands and still head straight to a cocktail party.

So, I’m giving you permission to go crazy. Try the zebra print skirt. Slip into that electric blue silk. Experiment with a new silhouette. You are never too old, too tall, or too anything to look spectacular.

Embrace where you are right now. This is your time to shine. As the legendary Elizabeth Taylor once said, "Put on some lipstick and pull yourself together!" Come see us in Decatur, and let's find the pieces that make you feel like the most confident version of yourself.
